Rubrics are charts that include indicators which describe different levels of achievement for the major components, or elements, of performance. A typical rubric contains a scale with a range of possible points for assessing work. High numbers are associated with strong performance, while low numbers indicate poor performance.
Rubrics allow students to see exactly what is expected of them when completing a project and to see what they need to do to earn full credit.
