Google Slides Themes

This week a teacher asked me about Google Slides and the templates that are available when designing a presentation. The teacher noticed that the templates have been the same for a few years now and new ones have not been introduced. This is true; Google created a basic set of themes for their slides, but they also gave users the ability to create and share their own templates. There are some creative people out there who have made and have shared their templates online.

So if you are tired of reusing the same Google Slides themes (or PowerPoint templates), or maybe you're looking for a theme that coordinates with the topic of your lesson or unit, below are two sources of free Google Slides and PowerPoint templates. Because they are free to download there are advertisements on the page, so just be aware of where you click.

You can narrow your choices by category and when you find a theme that you would like to use, just click the download button. Typically a copy of the template will save to your Google Drive that you can edit.
